The 16U Firecrackers will be coached by Phil Cummings and assistant volunteer Dani Leal. Coach Cummings has over eight years of fastpitch coaching experience that included 3 years at a 3A high school in Colorado. In addition, Coach Cummings has participated as a hitting coach at Baylor Winter camps. Coach Leal was the starting shortstop on Baylor’s Lady Bear Softball team for the 2010/2011 seasons. Volunteer Coach Leal was named to the 2011 All Big12 First Team and was also recognized as a 2011 All-American. Volunteer Coach Leal will be a graduate assistant coach for the Baylor Lady Bears 2012 season. Joining the coaching staff this year will be former Baylor All-American Ashley Monceaux. Ashley also served as the Assistant Softball coach at University of Evansville this past season.
The Firecrackers will be playing in two of the most prestigious showcase tournaments in the 2011/2012 season, the Ronald McDonald (Houston,Tx) in October and the Fireworks Tournament (Aurora, Colorado) in June. It is also our goal to qualify for the Nationals. We encourage players at all positions to attend our tryouts.
